Descriptions about Angle Grinder

The speed of the low-speed Angle mill is generally between 3000 and 5000 revolutions per minute.
First, the advantages of low speed Angle mill
The speed of the traditional Angle mill is generally more than 10,000 revolutions per minute, such a high speed is easy to lead to splashing and cracking, as well as causing cutting marks on the surface of the workpiece, and it is not safe enough to use. Therefore, the low-speed Angle mill has gradually become a safer and more efficient cutting tool.

The speed of the low-speed Angle mill is usually between 3000 and 5000 revolutions per minute, which is much lower than the traditional Angle mill. Such a speed makes the low-speed Angle grinder have the following advantages:

  1. Safer: the cutting force of the low-speed Angle mill is more uniform, and it is not easy to splash and break, reducing the occurrence of accidents.
  2. More stable: the cutting accuracy of the low-speed Angle mill is higher, and it is not easy to slip, penetrate and wear, which is conducive to protecting the quality of the workpiece surface.
  3. More environmentally friendly: The cutting noise of the low-speed Angle mill is smaller, and the dust pollution is less, which reduces environmental pollution and occupational hazards.
  4. More energy saving: Low speed Angle mill has lower energy consumption, longer service life, reducing maintenance costs and energy expenditure.

Second, the difference between low speed Angle mill and traditional Angle mill
In addition to the difference in speed, there are some other differences between low-speed Angle mills and traditional Angle mills:

  1. Cutter shape: The low-speed Angle grinder usually uses a fan cutter and a corner cutter, while the traditional Angle grinder uses a disk cutter. This design is conducive to the low speed Angle mill to maintain a more stable and uniform force, improve the cutting quality and efficiency.
  2. The difference in weight: the low-speed Angle mill is usually lighter than the traditional Angle mill, which is more flexible and comfortable for workers to use.
  3. The range of cutting materials: Low-speed Angle mills are usually suitable for harder materials, such as metals and ceramics, while traditional Angle mills are more suitable for the cutting of soft materials such as wood, plastic and rubber.

Third, how to choose a low-speed Angle grinder

  1. Choose brands: Choose some well-known and reputable brands, such as Bosch, Miller, etc., to ensure product quality and after-sales service.
  2. Purchase equipment: Select the appropriate cutter shape, cutting materials, power and speed parameters according to the needs, in line with their own needs and economic affordability.
  3. Check the safety protection: check whether the safety protection device of the low-speed Angle mill is complete and effective to avoid accidents.

In short, the low-speed Angle mill has a wide range of applications in industrial production and personal maintenance, and its low-speed advantages make it safer, environmental protection and energy saving, worth promoting and applying.

The main distinction between the two is that an angle grinder is a handheld, portable tool, whereas a disc grinder is a sturdy piece of machinery. A disc grinder is typically used for precision work on smaller workpieces, whereas an angle grinder is used for rough cutting and grinding.

A cut off tool can only be used for cutting, whereas an angle grinder provides you with cutting, shaping, sharpening, grinding, and other functions. A cut off tool can be easily operated with one hand, while the angle grinder requires both hands.

Angle grinders get their name from the disc’s placement at a right angle to the handle’s axis. A safety guard casing is placed around the grinding discs to protect the worker’s eyes and prevent grinding sparks from striking his face.

The specifications of the grinding wheel of the Angle grinder are usually composed of three parameters: diameter, thickness and aperture. ‌ ‌ 1
‌ diameter ‌ : The diameter of the grinding wheel determines its grinding range. Common diameters are 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, etc. The larger the diameter, the wider the grinding range.
‌ thickness ‌ : The thickness of the grinding wheel determines its grinding depth. The common thickness is 1mm, 1.6mm, 2mm, etc. The greater the thickness, the greater the grinding depth.
‌ aperture ‌ : The aperture of the grinding wheel disc determines the manner in which it is installed on the grinder. The common aperture is 16mm, 20mm, 32mm, etc. The larger the aperture, the more types of grinding machines are applicable.
In addition, the type of abrasive of the grinding wheel also determines its applicable processing materials, such as alumina, silicon carbide, boron nitride and so on. The selection of these specifications depends on the specific grinding requirements and use cases.

The no-load speed of the Angle mill is between 6000r/min-12000r/min, and the rated speed is 6000 RPM. The speed of the Angle mill is related to the specifications, and different specifications have different speeds. Because different specifications of the Angle grinder installed with different grinding wheel, in order to safety, technical safety requirements of any Angle grinder grinding wheel outer diameter linear speed does not exceed 85M/S, so according to this can be calculated the speed of different specifications of the Angle grinder.

Safty Instruction

A recoil is a sudden reaction to a squeezed or stuck spinning wheel, back pad, brush, or any other accessory. Squeezing or hooking causes a rapid stall of the rotating attachment, which in turn causes the uncontrolled power tool to be forced in the opposite direction to the rotation of the attachment at the restraint point. For the previous ample, if the grinding wheel is snagged or pinched by the workpiece, the edge of the grinding wheel entering the pinch point may penetrate deep into the surface of the material, causing the grinding wheel to crawl out or kick out. The wheel can jump towards or away from the operator, depending on the direction the wheel is moving at the squeeze point. Under these conditions, the grinding wheel may also break. Kickbacks are the result of misuse of power tools and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking the appropriate precautions given below.
a) Firmly hold the power tool and adjust the position of the body and arms to resist the recoil force. Always use an auxiliary handle (if provided) to maximize recoil or torque reaction during start-up. If proper precautions are taken, the operator can control the torque reaction force or recoil force.
b) Do not put your hands near rotating accessories. Accessories may bounce off your hand.
c) If recoil occurs, do not place your body in an area where the power tool will move. The recoil will push the tool in the opposite direction to the wheel movement at the hook point.
d) Be especially careful when handling corners, sharp edges, etc. Avoid bouncing and snagging attachments. Corners, sharp edges, or bounces can easily snag rotating accessories and cause loss of control or recoil.
e) Do not install chainsaw woodcarving blades or serrated saw blades. This blade can cause frequent recoil and loss of control.
